Location

Saudi Arabia, with a population of approximately 27 million, is in the centre of the world, between Africa and mainland Asia. It boasts dramatic landscapes, stunning seas and glorious mountains. In between the beaches on the Persian Gulf and the valleys, the cities offer a wide variety of cuisine and retail outlets to choose from; with restaurants, cafes, traditional souks, small stores, spas to large shopping malls. You’ll be almost sure to find your usual European brands such as Harvey Nichols, Marks and Spencer’s and Debenhams - without the VAT on purchases!

The cities are modern and cosmopolitan, yet yield a tranquil atmosphere. Nights can be quieter than your average city, with scarcer actual nightclubs and bars; however the lack of nightclubs is certainly made up for with amazing social functions and parties, dance and dramatic arts festival, not to mention the hundreds of literature events. The festivals range from days, to weeks, to months and are full of extravagance. There are clubs and societies for expats, which can help make you feel more at home and help show you the best ways to find entertainment and fun in Saudi.
