Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine

Do you wish for a career in Emergency Medicine?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, dedicated and progressive Emergency Medicine team at Lincoln County Hospital who are passionate about providing excellent patient care.

We have vacancies due to our own Doctors taking up formal RCEM training with a national training number.

For those wishing to further develop their skills in Emergency Medicine, this is an excellent opportunity for a Specialty Doctor. You would be supported by the department in all aspects of training and development to progress your career. We are committed to providing our staff with all opportunities to excel and provide a tailor made plan for each of our team, allowing them to reach their full potential.

Successful candidates will have full GMC Registration, appropriate life support courses, a broad base of hospital working in acute specialties (ideally with one year Emergency Medicine experience), and a clear ambition to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine.

What do we have to offer ?

We would welcome you into a strong team who are truly dedicated to their patients and each other. This team, led by the Consultants and Senior Nursing Staff, would support your day to day working, clinical learning and overall career development.

As part of the team you would manage a comprehensive case mix as we currently treat 70,000 new patients each year of all ages and with any emergency or acute problem.

This care is provided within the main Emergency Department for the area. The building was purpose-built in 1993 and has a four-bedded resuscitation room, 15 trolley cubicles and dedicated minors and ambulatory emergency care facilities. The Department and Hospital are rapidly evolving as an acute site. We are a Trauma Receiving Unit, offer primary PCI and Stroke Thrombolysis on site and are using progressive processes such as Rapid Assessment Triage to evolve our service to provide fantastic senior led care.

If you are considering this post, please give us a call, you are invited to arrange a visit so that we can show you what we have to offer.

For further information please contact, Dr Megan Kelly or Dr Ben Loryman, Consultant in Emergency Medicine on (01522) 573383.

No DBS fees to pay - Successful candidates will have their DBS applications applied for and paid by ULHT for roles that require this check. There is no requirement to reimburse ULHT for this cost.

Applications from applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
