Alberta Health Services, Department of Addiction & Mental Health in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Psychiatry, is inviting applications from psychiatrists with expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, preferably with subspecialty certification.

Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, and speech language pathology provide education and assistance for more than 1.2 million people in Edmonton and surrounding areas.
This position will provide part time child psychiatric consultation and direct services within the Stollery Children’s Hospital
The psychiatrist will see acute patients referred from the Stollery Children’s Hospital Emergency or the Mobile Response Team for assessment and short-term follow-up before referral to other services.
The psychiatrist provides consultation for the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with significant mental health disorders, high risk or complex situations and co-morbid learning problems.Qualifications:
An interest in education of medical students and residents is highly desirable as the successful candidate is expected to apply for an Academic Appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Alberta. Candidates must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry, preferably have subspecialty certification or have plans to write the sub specialty exam in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. S/he must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
