Alberta Health Services is currently seeking the services of a fully licensed physician to manage the medical needs of patients in the Burns/Plastics program at the UAH. This Clinical Associate role involves:
• managing the medical needs of inpatients admitted to the Burns/Plastics service
• surgical assisting when required and under the direction and supervision of the attending physician
• responding to related consultations and managing patients presenting to the Emergency Department or off-service at the UAH
The Burns/Plastics Clinical Associate role involves working under the direction and supervision of an attending physician.
Ideal applicants will have experience in the clinical management of medical/surgical problems seen in hospitalized Burns and/or Plastics patients and demonstrate an expressed interest in the assessment and management of Burns/Plastics patients. Applicants must currently have the skills or be able to learn the skills required to care for high risk and ventilated patients. Education will be provided as required to the ‘selected’ applicants.
Possession of Fully Independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta is required. Participation, including attendance and presentation, at Burns/Plastics multidisciplinary rounds and resident teaching sessions will also be required.
The UAH Burns/Plastics Clinical Associate will work a combination of day-time and night-time shifts, with some 24 hour on-site/off-site work.
