An opportunity has arisen for a Primary Mental Health Worker to join our Cowal & Bute Mental Health Service.

Candidates should have clinical expertise within Primary Mental Health Service attained through relevant experience and knowledge of current interventions. As an experienced Primary Mental Health Worker you will be carrying out mental health assessments, providing person-centred recovery focused interventions and therapies within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be working within the Primary Mental Health Service based within the Community Mental Health service across Cowal & Bute. Acting as an autonomous independent practitioner within the primary care setting, managed by the Community Mental Health Services, while liaising with other professionals as necessary.

You should be able to work in a creative way to provide care to people with common mental health problems. Have a good understanding of the current policies and practices influencing Primary Mental Health Care. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential along with evidence of personal and professional development in delivering treatments and providing therapies. The candidate must have experience of working in a Primary Mental Health Service and have a good understanding of the issues relating to providing a mental health service in a rural area. The successful Candidate will be based within the Cowal and Bute mental health service in Dunoon and Bute.

The post has dedicated CPD and supervision time.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively in various work locations within Cowal & Bute area, to meet the operational requirements of the service.
