Band 7 practice development senior sister / charge nurse

The Cardiac Intensive care unit (CICU) is renowned for our local and national contribution to critical care and for consistently delivering high standards of clinical care. This is reflected in our last CQC report where critical care was rated as “outstanding” and cardiac intensive care being ranked 3rd in the country for patient outcomes.

We are very proud of the consistent high standards that we achieve and following a recent staff review we are now planning to expand our senior nursing team at band 7 level.  We are looking for dynamic and innovative individuals that have an established track record of excellence in critical care.

Band 7 practice development senior sister / charge nurse

As a band 7 senior sister / charge nurse with practice development responsibilities you will have recent experience as a band 6/7 in a comparable critical care setting.  You will have an interest in teaching and facilitating learning in practice and will have the opportunity to maintain and further develop your clinical, leadership and management skills.

You will be required to work in collaboration with our existing senior nursing team and clinical nurse educators to provide training, education and practice development for junior staff whilst maintaining a culture that supports our Trust values. You will be able to demonstrate a strong desire and readiness to progress to a senior nursing role with proven experience in the development of junior members of staff.

Getting to Work

Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes.  This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited.  UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible.   UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
