11 PAs (including 1:3 on-call)
We are seeking to appoint two Consultant Ophthalmologists to join our Ophthalmology Department.
Our Trust is currently in “double special measures” for quality and finances, but a new Chief Executive and senior leadership changes is driving change within the organisation to engage with staff, change culture, and renew focus on the quality of services delivered.
The successful candidates will join colleagues in the provision of general ophthalmology services at our Trust, with one post with a special interest in medical retina and the second post with a special interest in ocuplastics.
We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated team players who are dedicated to providing high quality patient care within our non-hierarchical setting to develop a cutting edge service in your area of special interest.
Our department provides services across three sites; Scunthorpe General Hospital, Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, and Goole District Hospital. We have fully equipped units with established services in cornea, oculoplastics, glaucoma, AMD/diabetes and vitreo-retina. We are fully supported by Orthoptists and dedicated outpatient nursing teams including Clinical Nurse Specialists, medical photographers, and Senior Healthcare Assistants with expanded roles.
The successful post holders will have the opportunity to be appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School (HYMS). This honorary appointment is in recognition of contribution to teaching and research and holders of honorary titles may request access to HYMS and University premises and facilities, systems, and library services.
Northern Lincolnshire is an attractive place to live and work, with superb value housing in award winning market towns and villages as well as larger centres. We would welcome visits from interested candidates to view our services and local area.
Relocation expenses up to £10,000 are available within the Trust relocation policy, and further recruitment incentives may be available for the right candidates under the recruitment & retention incentive policy.
