The Department of Paediatrics, Section of Palliative Medicine invite applications for a physician at 0.90 FTE. The Section Members currently provide comprehensive palliative care services to children of all ages in Southern Alberta as part of the inter-professional Children’s Hospice and Palliative Care Service. This includes providing medical coverage to Rotary Flames House, a pediatric hospice affiliated with Alberta Children’s Hospital and care in the community as well as a very active consultation service. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the clinical services provided by the Section and to participate in a call roster. Academic appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or higher will be expected.
The successful candidate should have demonstrated interest and/or experience in all aspects of pediatric palliative care. Recognized training and/or significant clinical experience in pediatric palliative care, pediatric pain management, or other relevant subspecialty is a strong asset. Experience in clinical research, medical education or quality improvement would also be an asset as it is anticipated that the successful candidate will contribute to the academic profile of the Section. The Section anticipates developing a new pediatric track Fellowship in Palliative Medicine in the near future.

Qualifications include an MD or equivalent and certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics or equivalent certification from another professional association.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
