About your opportunity

The Nurse Practitioner, within credentialed scope of practice provides nursing leadership, clinical governance, case management and complex clinical care and support for patients within the correctional environment.

The majority of health care provided to patients in the custodial setting is based within a model of primary health care and predominantly relates to the management of chronic disease, infectious disease, co-morbidity (alcohol and drug addiction and mental health service) and the provision of acute care as required.

The role includes the key coordination functions of complex evidence based care delivery across a continuum, business and materials management, and education provision for patients and their family / carers and staff.

Mandatory requirements

    • Masters level qualification or equivalent, current registration with APHRA as a Nurse Practitioner and a current practising certificate.
    • Appointees must meet Townsville HHS credentialing requirements.
    • Possession of a relevant post graduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable.
    • The successful applicant is required to work the roster including weekends if rostered.

Generous remuneration package value up to $148,634 p.a. comprising salary range of $124,415 to $129,888 p.a. (Nurse Grade 8), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75 % employer contribution to superannuation.
