An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Sonographer to work with a leading Medical Imaging provider who is based in Gunnedah, NSW

Job tasks and responsibilities

The nominated role of a Sonographer is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment providing high quality diagnostic images whilst maintaining an appropriate level of patient care and safety.


Sonographers are instrumental in ensuring the commitment to high quality images and patient care is met through the ability to perform ultrasound with excellence, including Advanced techniques.


Key Actions:

  • Perform general ultrasound duties without supervision in accordance with practice instructions.
  • Achieves competency in at least 7 advanced Sonography skills.
  • Adherence to Alpenglow’s Practice Management System and its related Policies & Procedures.
  • Patient focused service incorporating-patient safety, patient comfort, patient dignity and patient confidentiality.
  • Skill Development.
  • Other duties as required or directed.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Core competencies in general, O&G, musculoskeletal, small parts, paediatric and vascular cases.
  • Additional skills in performing vascular, paediatric and nuchal translucency accreditation preferred, however not essential.
  • Dual qualifications (Radiographer/Sonographer) is advantageous.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • A caring and respectful attitude to patients.
  • Dedication to continuous improvement and continued learning.
  • Experience and willingness to teach and mentor Sonography students.


The Successful Candidate Must Have:

  • DMU Part II or Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Sonography or equivalent.
  • Current Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
  • Valid Working with Children Check (For Katoomba & Tamworth)
  • Valid Bluecard Number (For Longreach)
  • 1+ years post-grad Sonographer experience
