Salary: Base remuneration package of up to $155,838 p.a., comprising salary of $129,888 to $136,183 p.a. (Nurse Grade 10), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%). Additional allowances/benefits for this position include RANIP (x2 airfares annually including family to nearest east coast provincial city), RANIP bonus + professional development leave and allowances.

About North West Hospital and Health Service
The North West Hospital and Health Service covers an area of over 300,000 square kilometres and services the rural and remote communities within North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Health Service includes the City of Mount Isa and the towns and areas of Burketown, Camooweal, Cloncurry, Dajarra, Doomadgee, Julia Creek, Karumba, Normanton and Mornington Island.

About the Role 

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for ensuring Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA) and own standards and actions (at advanced level) and the delegation and supervision of care to a Registered Nurse (RN), Enrolled Nurse (EN) or unregulated healthcare worker.
  • Lead the achievement of positive patient outcomes by demonstrating advanced nursing clinical and professional leadership and management;
  • Foster a positive workplace culture ensuring professionalism and positive practice environment by developing and maintaining an effective and inclusive nursing, midwifery and healthcare team that works collaboratively with colleagues, patients and communities.
  • Create and promote a shared vision to lead and manage change by providing advanced nursing leadership that drives quality system improvement and change management initiatives to enhance alignment to the North West HHS Professional Practice Model (PPM) and meet relevant clinical governance, professional and practice standards.
  • Achieve unit specific and organisational goals and performance indicators through advanced nursing leadership in operational and strategic planning.
  • Facilitate and contribute to a learning environment by leading, supporting and mentoring colleagues; fulfilling portfolio responsibilities and lead the Career Progression Pathway (CPP) program as relevant to facilitate professional practice development and succession management.
