The Department of Anesthesia, Alberta Health Services Calgary Zone Clinical invites applications for the position of Anesthesiologist at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary. The position will be for 0.8 FTE. The ideal starting date will be Aug 1, 2019. Applicants available in late 2019 will also be considered.
Alberta Health Services Calgary Zone is one of the largest fully integrated, publicly funded health care systems in Canada and serves a population of approximately 1.4 million people living in an area of 40,000 square kilometers. An additional 300,000 people in Southern Alberta, Southwestern Saskatchewan, and Southeastern British Columbia access health care in the Zone.
The successful candidate will be asked to contribute to the Rockyview Hospital and the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine in non-clinical areas. Non-clinical duties may or may not be funded, depending upon level of engagement. These matters may be negotiated with the Academic Department Head at the Cumming School of Medicine.
Qualifications:he successful candidate should possess the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team; superior interpersonal communication skills; and a strong commitment to delivering innovative anesthetic care. Calgary Anesthesiologists support the Department of Anesthesia’s academic mission by teaching all levels of learners and participating in clinical and academic research. The position encompasses full clinical practice including on-call and appointment as a University of Calgary Clinical Lecturer.
The skill set that would most benefit the department at this time is point of care diagnostic ultrasound.
Fellowships will be regarded favourably, but will not necessarily be mandatory. Experience may be considered an asset.
Applicants must be a qualified MD or equivalent, with specialist certification in Anesthesia and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
