Responsibilities/Duties:

The Department of Oncology at the University of Alberta, in partnership with Alberta Health Services – Cancer Control Alberta (AHS), Cross Cancer Institute (CCI), invite applications for the position of Clinician-Scientist or Clinician-Investigator with expertise in PET imaging and MRI to take a leadership role in the operation of a new PET-MR scanner recently installed at the Cross Cancer Institute.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be an MD (or equivalent) with certification in Diagnostic Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine, be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and have expertise in PET and MRI. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated track record of academic performance with peer-reviewed publications in any aspect of PET or MRI. The successful candidate will have an academic appointment in the Department of Oncology, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta, at a rank that will be based on years of experience. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct innovative independent research and to act as a collaborator/advisor to the many clinical groups who are interested in using the PET/MRI scanner as a research tool.

Compensation:

The starting income will be commensurate with the level of training and experience, but will be above the median specialist income for Alberta.
