As an experienced RN, you are dedicated to providing excellent patient-centred care in order to maximise the health outcomes for the community. The Intensive Care Unit is a five bed, Level 3 Close Observation Unit. Care is provided primarily to adult patients requiring High Dependency and Coronary Care, however short term Intensive Care treatment including respiratory and circulatory support is also provided. To be successful you will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and committed to your professional development. You will require strong critical thinking and excellent interpersonal and communication skills as you provide care to a referral community of the 55,200.
 
Working in the Intensive Care Unit, you are responsible for responding effectively to emergency situations and the changing status of a patient, undertaking hourly rounding, making follow-up phone calls to patients, utilising patient care boards, documenting records, making appropriate referrals, supervising students on clinical placement, participating in safety and quality education, and involving yourself in project work when required make up the role. You will be well supported by experienced staff with two RN’s on every shift and a manager and CNE focused on your learning and work experience. 
 
Armidale is the highest city in New South Wales with a full complement of the seasons. Set high on the beautiful Northern Tablelands and is known for its beautiful tree lined streets and magnificent autumn colours. You can enjoy alfresco cafes, impressive architecture, a variety of arts and cultural activities. The region offers diversity in outdoor activities such as bushwalking in the nearby World Heritage listed National Parks offering spectacular gorges and waterfalls in Australia. Armidale is an educational centre featuring a university, as well as public and private schools, each providing a level of education comparable to any capital city in Australia


To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.

 

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and  expiry date of your visa

 

An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.
