Applications are invited for a fee for service position with the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta and the Department of Cardiac Sciences at Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary. This will be a clinical appointment at the Clinical Assistant Professor level (or higher) for an outstanding interventional cardiologist with additional training and expertise in structural heart disease interventions, including TAVR. The position will be based at Foothills Medical Centre located in Calgary, Alberta. While academic accomplishment is valued, individuals with dedicated clinical practice are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in all aspects of Adult Interventional Cardiology. Clinical responsibilities will include participation in Cath Lab / PCI duties, including in-patients, ambulatory care, and on a consultative basis in conjunction with other specialists. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced training or expertise in complex coronary interventions; including chronic total occlusion PCI, and in advanced hemodynamic support techniques.

The successful candidate will be part of the Libin Institute of Alberta. Current membership includes over 150 investigators and their research teams with a broad range of interests in cardiovascular medicine. The Institute is housed within the rapidly growing Faculty of Medicine that has recently added two new research complexes to its already outstanding facilities. Candidates may be eligible to participate in the Alternate Relationship Plan that provides competitive salary support. Calgary is a vibrant, multicultural city of more than one million people. Qualifications include an MD, training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, additional training and experience in Adult Interventional Cardiology and additional training and/or experience in TAVR. Accomplishment in clinical research is desirable, but not a requirement for the position.

The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
