This 0.5FTE position provides specialist Gender Psychiatry care to the gender diverse and trans - identified population across the age spectrum.The recruited psychiatrist will work within the Gender Program to provide transitional services and psychiatry support within scope of practice.The psychiatrist will offer assessments of Gender Dysphoria as well as psychiatric care for the gender diverse and trans-identified population. An interest in education of residents and students is highly desirable as the successful candidate is expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Alberta, which will be considered through a separate process with the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (FoMD).
The candidate will be expected to be involved in AHS and the University of Alberta program development initiatives and will be required to fully utilize AHS IT systems and processes.

Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, dietetics, education, and with access to speech and language pathology providing education and assistance for more than 1.4 million people in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.
Candidates must have an MD and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry. S/he must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Remuneration is fee-for-service, supplemented by sessional payments to cover administrative activities.
