What you'll be doing

The Senior Registered Nurse is responsible for working rotating shifts in all areas of the Emergency Department including Fast Track, Paediatrics, In-charge, Triage, and Resuscitation areas as well as all general and acute areas of the department.  The primary objective of this role is to provide assessment, information and acute care to patients in the Emergency Department in a senior nursing capacity in all areas of the department in consultation with the NUM/nurse in-charge.

In addition to the permanent full/part time positions available, there are:

- Temporary full/part time maternity relief positions available with various end dates, up to June 2020, all with the possibility of an extension at same/reduced hours.

- Temporary full/part time leave relief positions available with various end dates, up to June 2020, all with the possibility of extension.

Successful applicants to the role must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation. The applicant must be certified as compliant with before employment can commence.

  1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  2. Recent clinical experience in an Emergency Department or Acute Care setting.
  3. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of the Continuous Quality Improvement concepts.
  6. Computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
  7. Ability to demonstrate application of NSW Health CORE Values.
