The Hospital is a major teaching centre and is the base for the Wessex Radiology Training Scheme. Most of the regional specialist units are located in the NHS Foundation Trust
The Care Group has undergone significant modernisation in the last 7 years as a result of the managed equipment service with new equipment and facilities throughout the care group. Radiology has a high profile within the Trust and across the region.
The successful candidate will have specialist training in cardiothoracic imaging and will join a team of 5 established and enthusiastic consultants. The department is well respected in the world of cardiothoracic imaging and the new team member would be well supported in developing their career options and special interests. We provide a full spectrum of imaging facilities and can offer a tailored job plan to suit the individuals’ experience. University Hospital Southampton is a tertiary referral centre for cardiac surgery and cardiology, including the regional paediatric cardiac centre. It is also the regional centre for thoracic surgery. This post has been created to help develop a targeted lung health check (TLHC) program in Southampton, one of 10 pilot centres selected by NHS England. The successful candidate will join the dedicated Cardiothoracic on call rota. Registrar training and education are core activities within the group and a commitment to research is also encouraged.
Applicants should have a CCST or be on the GMC Specialist Register. Applicants who are within six months of obtaining their CCST on the date of the AAC may also apply.
Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, it is essential that candidates should provide confirmation of this from the relevant College or Faculty in the United Kingdom and attach the confirmation to your application.

Getting to Work
Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes. This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited. UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible. UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
