We are looking for a consultant radiologist with subspecialist training in interventional radiology to join our friendly and progressive team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust; a BSIR exemplar site.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The post will be based primarily at Southampton General Hospital and be part of the radiology directorate. Duties will be undertaken in conjunction with consultant colleagues as part of the interventional radiology unit covering 2 angio labs and our hybrid lab.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The post has been in part created by the centralisation of vascular surgical services to Southampton General Hospital, and as such you will need to demonstrate experience in endovascular aortic intervention, in addition to peripheral vascular intervention, non-vascular intervention and embolotherapy. In this role, you will be encouraged to develop your area of subspecialist interest in collaboration with colleagues, in addition to providing more general interventional radiology cover as part of the group on a flexible basis. We provide a 24/7 interventional radiology rota as part of a group job plan.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Applicants should have a CCT or be on the GMC’s Specialist Register. Applicants who are within six months of obtaining their CCT on the date of the AAC may also apply.
Individuals wishing to apply must be fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and should be either already on or within 6 months of eligibility to be included on the specialist register of the GMC. The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.

Getting to Work
Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes. This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited.
