The Cleveland Youth Detention Medical Centre is seeking Registered Nurses with varied experience to fill future permanent and temporary, full and part-time vacancies.
Cleveland Youth Detention Centre (CYDC), located in Townsville, accommodates young people aged up to 18 years, who are remanded or sentenced to youth detention. Health services within the CYDC work in partnership with other government and healthcare providers, to deliver a range of preventative, primary and emergency care services to young people within the detention centre environment. This includes health assessments, treatment of minor injuries and illnesses, phlebotomy and health education to young people. The Registered Nurse will demonstrate competence in the provision of nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with young people, peers and the healthcare team to achieve high quality, evidence based, person-centred care within a Primary Health Care (PHC) model.
