Alberta Health Services is inviting applications for 6 Locum General Obstetrician and Gynecologists to join the Edmonton Zone Obstetrics/Gynecology Locum Pool. The term of the locum will be 1 year. The Edmonton Zone’s tertiary acute care hospitals which consists of approximately 80 Obstetricians/Gynecologists in private practice as well as sub-specialists. It offers a dynamic Women’s Health program dedicated to strengthening women’s health services, enhanced teaching, clinical innovation and research.
The successful candidates should be eligible and will be required to apply for a Clinical Academic appointment in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, University of Alberta. This will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry which has been internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions and is located in Edmonton.

The candidates will be expected to have an active research interest and demonstrated skills in clinical education. Extra training and area of special interest would be an asset. The successful candidates will have superior interpersonal skills and be a proven team player. The ability to work congenially within our group setting is an absolute prerequisite. Minimum obstetrical numbers will be an expectation of the successful candidates, as well as participation in the call roster.
Remuneration is Fee for Service.
