About the Role

Bayside Health Service encompasses four public health campuses being Redland Hospital, Marie Rose Centre, Wynnum Manly Community Health Centre Gundu Pa and Pandanus Ward at Casuarina Lodge. The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is accountable at an advanced practice level for leading and coordinating the Paediatric and Special Care Nursery services to achieve best practice standards for clinical practice, patient centred care within a healthcare team and is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient human, material and financial resource management.

  • Accountable for delivery of contemporary nursing practice, patient outcomes and the achievement of associated service performance targets/indicators within the Paediatric and Neonatal Services. 
  • Work collaboratively with peers and others to create team cohesion and a positive practice environment that achieves best practice outcomes for patients and/or service.
  • Work effectively within in the healthcare team, organise work priorities, provide nursing leadership and review models/work practices and patient care processes that support the continuum of care.
