As part of the state wide health service you will be located in this modern 160 bed facility providing high quality health care to the local region. The hospital also offers services in medical, surgical and allied health specialties through inpatient and outpatient departments. The hospital has a strong relationship with the University of Tasmania’s Rural Clinical School, and the secondary care facilities are both associated teaching hospitals with contemporary teaching environments.
You will be working in a team comprising of three Consultants, three Registrars and one RMO. This is a busy Obstetrics Unit with approximately 1000 deliveries per year and they are the referral unit for other hospitals across the state. They offer a range of clinics including antenatal complex care and diabetic along with general gynaecology and colposcopy. Outreach antenatal and gynaecology clinics are provided to three rural areas. The hospital will fully support your access to continuing professional development and has a very strong focus on ensuring our employees enjoy an excellent work/life balance.
You will have excellent exposure to a range of gynaecological surgeries such as pelvic floor, caesarean, hysterectomy and laparoscopic work with four to five operating lists presenting per week. You should be serious about education and able to share your clinical expertise with medical staff and students and foster a learning environment.
