This role is responsible for the coordination and management of processes involved in managing the Telehealth Service across the whole of the North West Hospital and Health Service including meeting key deliverables.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Telehealth Services) is required to provide a professional service to patients who are receiving specialist health services remotely by videoconferencing technology.

The North West Telehealth Services Unit is a rapidly expanding area of health care in the North West Hospital and Health Service. The service aims to add to health service capacity by increasing community access to a wider range of specialist, public and private health services via the use of video conferencing technologies.  Utilising the telehealth model, small, rural and remote communities are provided an increasing range of emergency, general and specialist services, reducing disparities in service provision.  The service assists communities to ‘link in' with an established network of telehealth providers, improving access to services that previously required travelling long distances to metropolitan areas for face-to-face review.

What we are seeking:

  • High level ability to provide effective leadership within a rural and remote Hospital and Health Service involving multidisciplinary teams.
  • High level communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to consult, communicate with and educate patients/clients and staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • A clinical background enabling effective understanding of clinical needs, progress and outcome.
  • Ability to provide leadership to staff and potential patients to achieve system change and implementation of improvements in Telehealth service to improve patients' outcomes.
  • Understanding of and ability to proficiently use videoconferencing technology is highly desirable.


  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and a current practising certificate are mandatory.
  • Travel may be a requirement of this role.
  • Class C motor vehicle licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role.

Permanent full-time role, 76 hours per fortnight.
