About your opportunity

This position provides support to the Charters Towers Health Service through:

  • Provision of quality, evidence-based nursing care to the community of Charters Towers.
  • Functioning within the nursing team at Charters Towers Health Service.
  • Provision of clinical leadership to other nurses consistent with the Queensland Health Nursing Career structure.
  • Supporting discharge planning, telehealth clinics, wound clinic, non-government organisations within Charters Towers, diabetes management/education, cardiac rehabilitation and outpatients clinics.

Requirements

  • Proof of qualification, registration with AHPRA and a current practising certificate are mandatory requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Adult Life Support Certificate.
  • Class C drivers licence.
  • On-call roster participation and travel requirements are part of this role.
  • The applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment; including the Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix and Power Point.

  • Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment including in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.
  • Ability to provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
  • Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Proven ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.

Generous remuneration package value up to $115,848 p.a. comprising salary range of $94,545 to $101,237 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6-Band 1), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
