About your opportunity

The Townsville University Hospital Clinical Trials Unit, Cancer Services participates in a number of multi-centre clinical trials. The purpose of this position is to work with other nurse researchers and medical leads to coordinate these trials locally at Townsville as a primary site and Mackay, Mt Isa and Cairns within the Northern Cluster. This includes education to staff and patients on the trial, enrolment of patients, follow up of enrolled patients, data collection and preparation of reports while ensuring trial governance requirements are satisfied for a clinical trial conducted using the tele-trial model.

Generous remuneration package value up to $71,367 p.a. comprising salary range of $59,712 to $63,939 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent and current AHPRA registration.
  • Advanced clinical problem-solving skills and ability to plan and evaluate interventions for patients enrolled onto clinical trials in oncology.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
  • High standard of written and oral communication skills within the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
