About the Role
The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, within the specialty area of Child Health, with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the healthcare team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of Child Health specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.
Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, commonly known as Inala Indigenous Health Service, is a Queensland Health service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Located in Inala, 18km South West of Brisbane CBD, our clinic is staffed by GPs, nurses, allied health and Aboriginal Health Workers and visiting medical specialists. The nursing team includes General Practice, Child Health, Outreach Immunisation, Chronic Disease and Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Service (IMSS). The HOMES team consists of a Nurse Navigator, Clinical Nurses and an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health worker. We also provide health-related services at a community level and our research team is dedicated to finding and publishing evidence about how to improve the health of our patients.
