The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Cardiac Catheter Suite) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will take responsibility for

  • Providing leadership, direction and support to other nursing staff, students and interdisciplinary team members as well as providing clinical leadership utilising advanced clinical skills, knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills in Cardiac nursing
  • Being responsible and accountable for role modelling excellent patient focused, evidence based nursing care at an advanced level for patients with acute cardiac events and interventions; including pre, intra and post procedural care
  • Proactively engaging in learning opportunities
  • Displaying advanced Electrocardiogram interpretation and arrhythmia management

Requirements for the role

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009 with a current annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is essential
  • A Graduate Certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
  • This position requires effective computer skills to use clinical information systems and other applications relevant to role

Salary information

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $94 545 - $101 237 per annum
  • Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

About the Cardiac Catheter Suite

The Gold Coast University Hospital Cardiac Catheter Suites (CCS) require an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurse to join our dynamic department. The department works Monday to Friday with a 24-hour acute on-call service. We provide a range of structural heart interventions including Trans Aortic Valve Implantation, Atrial Septal Defect and Patent Forman Ovalle closures. We complete complex Electrophysiological procedures and are involved in a number of research trials. The department also provides a pacing and defibrillation service, including complex Biventricular and HIS Bundle device insertions.
