An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health Worker) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.   You will take responsibility for 
  • Delivering high level clinical services in accordance with professional code of ethics, the Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 and National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce
  • Providing efficient, responsive and recovery orientated mental health care in a variety of hospital and community settings, utilising advanced level skills and knowledge commensurate with the level of clinical experience and the area of speciality
  • High level independent mental health services including high level evidence-based assessment, collaborative treatment planning and case management or case collaboration for difficult to engage and/or high-risk consumers with severe and complex mental health problems, and their carers/families, beyond routine day to day presentations
  • Providing intensive, developmentally appropriate, consumer-centred, mental health interventions and ongoing assessments for consumers who require high intensity services including risk assessment, crisis management, safety planning treatment, rehabilitation and support services to recover from severe and complex mental illness
  Requirements for the role
  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009 with a current annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is essential
  • A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a government vehicle and an appropriate Licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required

Salary information
  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $116 092 - $126 037 per annum
  • Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

  About Evolve Therapeutic Services   The EVOVLE team form part of the CYMHS continuum of care and work specifically with adolescents aged 13-18 years with severe and complex mental health illness and who are difficult to engage in mental health care, exhibit high risk behavior or are at risk of deterioration with significant deficits in psychosocial functioniong.  This service model is an intensive family-centred approach that emphasises individual strengths, builds resilience and enhances opportunities for social inclusion.  EVOLVE operates on the premise that adolescents can and do recover from mental health illness as reflected in the recovery-oriented treatment and discharge planning provided.
